Designed for an NRI family, with the homeowner being a passionate chef, Modern Tharavadu reimagines Kerala's traditional architecture for contemporary living. At the heart of the home is an open-plan living space anchored by a spacious island kitchen, designed for cooking, gathering, and conversation.
A long sloping roof responds to the climate, while a sculptural staircase wraps around a tranquil courtyard and wash area. A paved pathway connects the new home to the ancestral tharavadu, preserving a physical and emotional link to the family's roots. Sit-outs open into lush landscaping, creating a home where tradition, modern living, and everyday rituals come together effortlessly.
